Esplanade Station is an underground railway station located in the CBD of Perth, Western Australia. Situated parallel to William Street, it features integrated bus services at the neighbouring Esplanade Busport. It is served by a north-south railway line, the southern part of which is the interburban Mandurah Line and the northern part of which is the urban Joondalup Line. Through services operate between these lines, connecting Esplanade Station to the Perth Underground station, less than 1 km away, the neighbouring southern city of Mandurah and the northern suburb of Clarkson. The station provides access to the Perth Water portion of the Swan River, as well as St. Georges Terrace and Mounts Bay Road.Construction and openingThe site was first developed in 2004 On 15 October 2007, it was opened as part of the New MetroRail project and became the terminus of the Joondalup Line. On 23 December 2007, the rest of the Mandurah Line was opened and the through services. The station lacks bins, except for a single small bin outside the station.
